Our New Construction Electrical Services
Temporary Power
Most builds need power before there’s a house. We set up the temporary power pole so your crews have electricity from the first day on site.
Permits, Inspections & Utility Coordination
We pull the electrical permits and schedule the rough-in and final inspections. We also work with your electric provider to get service and set up the meter. That’s one less thing on your list.
New Construction Electrical Wiring
Every house gets wired to the plans, start to finish. Got a big load in mind, maybe a shop or a second fridge in the garage? Tell us early, and we’ll give it a dedicated circuit.
Panel & Electrical Service
We size the panel and service around the home you’re actually building, with room left over for things you might add later.
Outlets, Switches & Lighting
Tell us how you’ll use each room, and we’ll plan around it. That includes extra outlets for the TV or desk, USB outlets, dimmers, and lighting for every room, inside and out.
GFCI & AFCI Protection
We install the shock and fire protection required by code in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and other spaces.
EV Chargers, Generators & Smart Home Wiring
It’s a lot easier to plan for these now than to add them later, whether that’s an EV charger, a standby generator, or wiring for smart lighting and security. We install the major EV charger and generator brands, so we can recommend what fits your home. For generators, we handle the electrical side and coordinate the gas or propane hookup with licensed partners.
Shops, Barns & Rural Properties
Building on acreage? We also handle detached shops, barns, well pumps, septic systems, and long underground service runs common in Hill Country builds.
How Our New Construction Electrical Process Works
1. Plan review.
We go over the plans with you or your builder and talk through what the home needs now and what you might want down the road.
2. Permits and temporary power.
We pull permits and set up the temporary pole so construction can start.
3. Rough-in.
After framing, we run the wiring, set boxes, and install the panel. Then we schedule the rough-in inspection before insulation and drywall go up.
4. Finish work.
Near the end of the build, we install fixtures, outlets, switches, and any other specialty equipment.
5. Final inspection and walkthrough.
We test everything, get the final inspection done, and walk you through the system before we hand it off.
Why Builders and Homeowners Choose Texas Strong Electric
On a new build, the drywall crew is waiting on us. We take that seriously.
If something’s going to change on our end, the builder hears about it from us first,
not when they show up to an unfinished house.
Builders have plenty of new construction electrical contractors to choose from.
We’re a veteran-owned company led by Alberto Muniz, a licensed master electrician who grew up in San Marcos.
Contractors like knowing who’s responsible for the job,
and homeowners like having someone who’ll actually answer their questions. We do both.
Most of our work comes from repeat customers and referrals,
and on new builds that usually means a builder who wants us back on the next one.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a new construction electrician do?
We handle all the electrical work on a new build. That includes temporary power, permits, wiring, the panel, inspections, and the final fixtures. On most projects, we’re on site from the first week to the last.
How much does electrical work cost for a new home?
It depends on the home's size, the electrical service, how many circuits and fixtures you want, and any specialty equipment. Send us your plans, and we’ll give you a free estimate based on the actual work.
When does the electrical work happen?
In stages. Temporary power comes first, then the rough-in wiring after framing, before insulation and drywall. Fixtures and finish work come near the end.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. We pull the electrical permits and schedule the rough-in and final inspections, so you don’t have to.
Can I add extra outlets or plan for an EV charger or generator?
Yes, and now is the best time. Adding outlets or circuits after the walls are finished is a lot harder. Even if you won’t buy the EV or generator for a few years, we can plan the capacity now.
How much electrical service does a new home need?
It depends on the home’s size and what’s going into it: HVAC, electric appliances, EV charging, and shops or outbuildings. We’ll look at your plans and recommend the right size.
Do you work with builders or homeowners?
Both. We work directly with builders and general contractors, and with homeowners managing their own custom builds.
